Key myth

One of the few Greek gods taken into Rome with his name; his oldest cult in Rome was as a healer in 431 BCE. Augustus made him a patron after Actium.

Greek counterpart: Apollo on thegreekgods.org. Roman and Greek versions share names and stories in many places but began as different cults.
